code reader

Anyone in the Fayetteville area have a code reader, I'm just about finished with the EFI , it runs, a code reader would really make testing easier. I have hooked up a light, but still scratching my head on how to count, I figured out the soft codes, engine not running, but once I start it the light stays on...no blinkly. I probably hooked the light up wrong. I'm down for the week, won't be back at it until Saturday, really pressed for time to make it for the Nov U run. Have to finish the wiring, just clean it up, still have to replace both rear wheel cylinders and bled the hydroboost. If no code reader but experienced in hydroboost bleeding I could use the help.

Have you checked out www.fordfuelinjection.com

Ryan Mccormick has a great site and it helped me out with many of my EFI frustrations when i made the conversion. he has a great section on codes. i would check it out. heck if push comes to shove can you rent one from autozone or buy one and return it the next day?

Another thought... If you can get it to Advance Auto (not sure if others), they'll put a code scanner on it and tell you what it needs. Of course, they'll try to sell you junk that you don't, but at least you get a free read out of it!
