The next step on my build will be to tie all of the loose ends in my front axle and steering. Everything is there now, just tacked and hand tight.
From what I have read, I want to be in the +5 deg. caster range. With my HP D60, that makes the yoke almost level. In the perfect world I would want it to point directly or just below the t-case. I have also read about turning the knuckles, but that will have to be saved for a future project.
What caster are ya'll running? Could I get by with less than 5 deg and still have good handling - on and off the road. I know I don't want to go with less than 3 deg. and would that 2 deg. toward the TC really make that much of a difference?
My other concern is breaking u-joints and front driveshafts with such an angle at the yokes.
Broncomania - Do you remember what caster you had on your rig with 60's? I remember talking to you at the m&g in Charlotte and you said that you had not had trouble with breaking u-joints or front drive shafts.
