I just thought that if the scout motor was good you could use propane instead of the trouble of putting in the diesel motor. It may be cheaper as well. Just a thought.

No, I appriciate the advise.
The Scout has a running 4 cyl in it now ,but barely running.
The Diesel will be an Isuzu 4 cyl turbo intercooled and should be trouble free for a long long time.
SM420 tranny 205 transfercase and 2 steering Rockwells 4 linked front and rear.
I have a long road ahead of me before it is finished, really just collecting parts now.

I like the scout, but I know where another bronco is, just for rock crawling  Chuck

can you tweak the injection pump at all? I wonder how much power that isuzu can make?

The motor is rated around 125HP and can be tweaked some for sure.
The Scout was Free so it was the logical donor truck for the build.
I really don't want to geet too crazy with the motor, dependability over crazy power would be my goal.
I think Cookie is a diesel mechanic so perhaps he can shine some light on the Isuzu

Nope not me,
I just picked up the black Toyota from Cookie's though.
Went by Halligans at 7 tonight on my way back in town for a wing or two.
Parked the Bronco right by the front door in case anyone was stopping by,was away from my PC all week to check in though.
