I replace the alternator in my Bronco tonight and took my little Bronco out for a drive. When I took it out for a test drive to make sure that everthing was ok the lights at first was very bright then all the sudden went dim then went bright back to dim. The voltage gauge was jumping back in forth to 0 to 60? So what could it be? I am thinking that it could be my regulator going bad or is it some kind of grounding? I replace the ground side cable from the battery to the engine.. Please HELP.....

I would check the regulator. Did you replace the alt. with a new one? And what was it doing before you replaced it?
Stupid hurts when it catches up, and it WILL catch up!

X2 on the regulator.
Is the '69 alt regulated internally or externally?
I have a working external regulator off my '66 if you want to swap it in.

I would guess that the regulator is acting up.The last regulator I messed with would come and go with no consistant pattern.
