Yep, tired of being the fat ass that I am... I got a fire lit under my butt, and got my mtn bike "ready" to go riding... Bad part is that I have to drive 30-40 minutes to hit any "good" trails... So, after watching this 6-1 fatty on the discovery channel try to ride stage 16 of the Tour de France the day before the pros did a few years ago, I decided to ride to the gym this am, rather than driving like I usually do!
It's about 6 miles to my dads house, than about another 1-2 to the gym... It's all about determination is what I kept telling myself... "I don't care if I have to walk up the couple hills between here and there, I'm just plain gonna do it!"
Oh boy is this gonna suck, but off I go..... and 1 mile (one friggin mile!) into my Tour de Fatty, the chain breaks!! Now, I know that I'm a large man that really has no business being on any non-motorized vehicle, but dammit!!! :banghead:
What's a fat kid gotta do to get skinny around here?! :whiteflag: Screw it... lol!

I'm not laughing at you but with you:bdent:. I know where you are coming from. I, myself, need to get back in the gym.

Good luck wid it.I just don't have the will power,I've got all this equipment in the garage and it's just being used to hold up polishing towels and stuff.

Stick with it bro. I am on a walking kick which is not painful and it works. Get a pedometer and walk 10,000 steps a day to start then move to 12000. Its easy.

Yeah, it sucked, but thought I'd share the funny with you guys...
I've been pretty faithful about hitting the gym 3-4 days a week, but never do any cardio and then sit at the desk all day. I gotta shed some pounds before my boy learns to walk and I have to chase after him. Off to the bike shop to get the bike really ready this time... I'm gonna make this bike ride dammit!
Carl, how's the back?

Dont give up JayT, look at it this way, pushing the bike is twice as good right!
The walking carl is talking about is great. I walk all day at work and then go home and work on more stuff. Greatway to stay in shape. Cardio is very importent.

I'm with you JayT. I have to lose some weight or I'm going to end up on Biggest Loser if I don't stop gaining like I have the past year. My wife is a cardio freak - runs marathons etc and she has been helping me get out and walk. It's amazing how much better you feel after walking a couple miles. When I come home from work and am drained she makes me walk instead of sitting on the couch and eating. That walk gives me energy for the rest of the night. We're also starting to get up early and walk before work - hopefully that will help boost metabolism.
People that don't have to try to be thin (or at least not big) don't realize how lucky they are do they.
