N.A.S.C.A.R. is garbage
#1
I know I'm not the first one to feel or say this, but NASCAR is garbage! In their quest for better ratings, they have lost just about every ounce of respect I ever had... For them to say that the "No bump-drafting rule" today "was a success", and that they're "protecting the drivers from themselves" just infuriates me to no end...

When they first mentioned it today, I asked Jill how in the world that made sense... Then when I saw everyone checking up (to avoid the bump-draft) and causing two chain reaction wrecks (like 99% of us figured it would), I thought they would admit that "well, that didn't work as planned".... or something like that. But they call it a "SUCCESSS?!"

Side note: the wrecker operator that put newman Shiny-side-up needs to go back to school. that was also a crap job.

I used to enjoy watching N.A.S.C.A.R.... Wow, I really don't know what motorsport to watch now... NASCAR is terrible, NHRA has too much drama (although it's still my favorite), I don't know enough about open-wheel... I guess I have to go back to the roots, and watch the local boys run - dirt, circle, and 1/8th mile... Sad, so sad.

Rant over.

I agree, Nascar has forgotten about its roots and its history that got it to where it is today. I think the bump draft rule came from the truck race, but cars are totally different than trucks. The drivers too "hollywood" now too.

Never really been a "FAN" of nascar ... but would watch an extreme version if they would let these boys build it to the max ... no rules ... let um run as fast as they dare and see who has the BALLS to hold it ...

I have always loved racing but it is getting to the point that it sucks to watch or go and watch LIVE. I use to spend alot of money on going to the races and buying all the nascar crap but not any more.

Liz and I felt the same way, that ended up being one of the most boring races I have watched. That is even my favoret track and it sucked. They basicly prevented them from racing each other for fear they would be penilized. I dont want anyone to get hurt or wreck, but there has to be some compitetion or its not racing.
As a former EMS director and a trained wrecker oporator the entire scene was plain pathetic. Even newman was mad at how they extracted him.
Speed channel has been putting more of the off road racing events from the mid west. Think I'll watch those insted.
Just my 2c.
