Congrats on getting her back up and running....Coil breaking down eh, never thought about that being the culprit. Will definitely file that cause away for future reference....Two Broncos currently running = 2x the pain and agony!! :bigok:

good deal. was hoping you would find the answer. do you have 12V running to the coil? if it is an OEM style coil and you have an aftermarket wiring harness or modified the original harness, you need a ballast resistor to drop it down to about 6V. Ford wiring somehow did a trick where they didn't need a resistor, but it still dropped voltage down for the coil. I can't recall how they did it. 12V will burn up coils rather quickly.

Ford used a "resistive wire" to power the coil. The wire ran from the connector near the firewall to the coil at the front of the engine. It had a thick layer of insulation and a smaller diameter inner wire similar to a fuseable link wire.

i am running painless wiring and installed a coil with ballast resister built in. i should have known to do that when swapping engines because i dont run an external resistor.
If you can't fix it with a hammer and a welder then your gonna need a new one!

I learned the hard way on that one a while back. had no idea that 12V would ruin one of these coils. sounds like you are good to go.

i have been collecting lift parts for a while now and just got off phone with wild horses and purchased the remaining pcs of the puzzle. i should have items by next friday! pics to come of the install.

I got rear springs installed last night now on to the front end so i can get shocks that i need
