disc golf tourny
#1
so this weekend i am playing in a disc golf tournament in my home town augusta GA and today was the first 2 rounds and today i shot my first 1000 rated round now you have to think im a amature player (dont play for cash i play for trophy or vaulchers) and 1000 rated round is what really good players shoot and my rating is a 914 right now

here is a link to see the 2 rounds of the tourny and i have 2 more tomorrow just look for Benjamin Taylor in the advanced field and as you can see my second round was not even close to the 1st but we also played a differant course and have 2 differant courses tomorrow
http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?T...1#Advanced

the only reason i posted this was cause im extremely exicted about that 1st round

really it is not hard to get started all you need are 2 to 3 discs (to get started) find a course in your area and go and have fun if you want to learn more look at PDGA.com and it will tell you what disc golf is and also the rules cause sometimes they can get complicated

i have played that course before it is a good beginner course cuase it is short and pretty open so losing a disc is a little harder to do, also it is a 9 hole course that you play twice to play 18 holes and it is free to play also i do know trophy lakes sells golf discs but i wouldnt recommend playing this course till you have some control becuase there is alot of water to lose disc in and your first time out you dont want to go looking 8 dollar discs (and those are the cheap ones)

and here are my suggestions for your first 3 discs for your driver i would go with the lightest leopard you can find and for you mid range disc i would go with a roc or a cobra in the 175 to 160g and then for you putter i would go with a aviar in a heavy weight like 170 to 175g these are all innova discs

i dont know much about discraft but a good beginner driver would be a light weight xl and for your mid range i would go with a comet or metor in the same weight as the roc and a good putter would be a challanger or magnet in a heavy weight

and those are the two big companys in discgolf
