4-Point Rollbar Placement for EB

All: I have acquired a Tom's Bronco Parts 4-Point Rollbar that I plan on installing in my EB. It is a bolt-together version as depicted in the picture below. I am having it welded together then I'll install it.

My question is: What measurements should I take into consideration when locating the best (strongest, preferred) area to mount (drill, bore holes into the floorpan) when I put this thing in...closer to the front seats...closer to the tailgate?

Brian, before you weld it...i would install it for fitment. then tack everything in place. all broncos are not created equal and neither are those roll bars, so fit and bolt it in place, then remove for complete welding. take pics and keep us posted,Chuck

"Not all Broncos are created equal".....that's for damn sure!! I test fit it this weekend and made marks on all of the fittings, labeled then and it goes to get welded today (my apartment complex would frown on me welding anything in the parking lot...).

It fits as depicted in the photo, but wanted to see if there was a "best location" to mount it to the bed, frame, etc. I will post more and will show it off at the Beach Bash.

sounds good, just another thought...since its getting welded, now might be a good time to add a piece of tuding(3/8" ID) where a 3 point harness shoulder might bolt to. ya never know...just a thought. i placed mine just below where the rear roll bar legs connect to the main hoop. I drill the roll bar and welded a sleeve in the tube, then threw bolted the shoulder belt there. anywho...glad to see a roll bar going in anyway:xyxthumbs:

i have one similar to that one and the front hoop actually bolts to floor and fenderwell. so theres not alot of movement of placement.

Your roll bar, sold to you as an "Interior bar" for liability reasons, won't do you much good without a frame tie kit. Saw one just like it push right through the floor on a single roll at Tellico. Sold a lot of frame tie kits that day. When it's upside down that's a lot of weight on two little points and sheet metal isn't structural. It's a good starting point but don't bet the farm on it saving you.

well after hitting the trails with Brian...I think its safe to say -----------He wont be following us in his bronco lol. I dont think he likes the bumps and bruises that sweet stocker might get on the trails. So Im sure this is more of a look for the stocker, along with the option to use a bikini top too
