have ya worked on your hauler lately?
#1
it was so nice not having to work on the bronco or anything else today, which allowed me time to fix some problems on the dodge. for the last year or so, i have had problems when it came time to hook up any trailer to my dodge. so 1st order of business was installing a new 7-way plug...now when i hook the car trailer up...EVERYTHING WORKS right!!!! no in, out, twist to the right, twist left, pull it out a lil bit...it just works now:xyxthumbs:

fixed my clearance lights on the tail gate(they havent worked in a while), also found out, it can be adjusted just like a door...so now its tight to the body and doesnt rattle anymore!!!! installed the tail gate bed liner also, lost some of the screws for it a while back and took it off. well, its back on now.

still havent replaced the reverse switch(it went bad a year or so ago), so i wired in a LED toggle switch which lets me turn on the reverse light when ever i want them on...kinda helps when hooking up a trailer at night-now i can see:toothy12:

and lastly...installed a constant 12V accessory plug...now i can charge the phone and run GPS lol:biggthumpup:

anyway, just thought i would post some of the things i got done on the ole duallie

just one other thing, while i was testing the dodge to the trailer...my dang license plate lights arent working:banghead: there are 2, and only one has been working...so i guess tomorrow i will fix that:rubeyes:

Way to go Chuck. All those little problems tend to add up over time and make things less enjoyable. The Dodge certainly appreciates your TLC.

I changed my oil in the sleet on Sat. All 4+ gallons. Garage is all tied up...

How many miles are you guys going between changes? Mine is a 99 chipped 7.3 PSD running standard 15-40 Rotella T.

4000-7000 miles depending on when I get time and what else I am doing to the truck.

I put off changing it from time to time when I had a decent leak. Just add a little more oil.

Only leak I know I have left is on the fuel bowl with diesel in the valley. This will be the second time I have done those petcock o-rings. I used Viton last time and they made it almost 4 years (thanks ULSD). Using Fluorosilicone this time. Then maybe I will get some time to replace the leaking up-pipes.

I guess its only been 3 years, not 4. ULSD was showing up in September of 07. 3 years is pathetic for o-rings IMHO, so I'm going to try the Fluorosilicone ones.

November of 07 - small fuel leak in valley
December of 07 and first good freeze - valley full of fuel

November of 2010 - trip to thanks giving and fuel showing up and valley
December of 2010 - first good freeze, diesel under the truck.
