I used to have pics and a thread, but I think since the site has moved a few times...things have been lost. So I thought I would start from the beginning. I bought her from Harpers Ferry,WV for $4500...here she was back then
the day I brought her home...
she was sporting some 32" tires, no lift, crazy front and rear bumpers,M8000 winch(no controller) and a fresh 302 and C4
this is the only pic I could find of the 2" body lift sporting some new 33" Dakota AT's. I drove it around for a few months, mainly getting used to the motor/tranny/and drive train. Here you can see, I ditched the old bumper for a Warn bumper modified to mount higher and closer to the grill.
Once I began collecting some parts, it was time to start taking the next step. I removed the body and every component leaving just a frame. My frame was one of those with that AWESOME tar covering the frame:banghead:...I had to basically catch the frame on fire and burn that junk off before I could completely sand blast the frame. Unfortunately I didnt take a bunch of pics back then( I'll look in the other PC to see if I can find some) Here are a few pics(sorry, very grainy) of the frame. Frame was done in POR15 silver, installed longer radius arms from All For Fun Offroad, Duff front shock hoops+shocks, BCBroncos rear 3.5"11 leaf springs,WH's inboard rear shock mount and front 4.5" rock crawler coils,BCBroncos 25gal tank, WCB's rock crawler steering system, New ProComp MT's 35x12.5x15 on Chrome crawler wheels w/a spare to match. and of coarse the motor, trans, transfer case, and axles were all painted to look the part:xyxthumbs:
once the frame was rolling, now came the time to fix what really started all this work...(it needed floor boards):hysterical: so of coarse...that meant frame off:crying::bdent:
now the body went back on. Installed a new Centech wiring harness, installed some '94 Acura seats, Tom's rear seat, and you cant see where I did a glove box/speaker grill swap...for a later upgrade(front tie in cage) but it was done. As you can see, Emily is a big help. LOL, you should have seen her when she and I were painting the frame...POR doesnt come off lil girls, chocolate lab, or daddy:toothy12:
