The garage door guys finally made it today. Trying to get things lined up to start the electrical. I have to trench the power from the house to the building, then the concrete guy can finish up the drive. Also I plan on sealing the concrete soon.

I trenched mine as well. It was about 250' worth. Used a ditch witch on it. Worked well, but was A LOT of work. Red clay is very hard. My electrical guy said it needed to be a foot deep. Inspector came after I dug it and said it needed to be 18" deep. Had to dig the extra 6" by hand, as the ditch witch was borrowed and I had to give it back.. That SUCKED. Dig it deeper than needed, as the ground tends to fall in some over a day or two, if you can't get it inspected the same day as you dig it.

you don't need no stinkin sealer... actually, don't get the water based kind. I spent about $130 for some stuff that was supposed to be what Lowe's and H Depot uses. It is trash. You can't even tell that it is on there. Stuff just soaks right into the concrete. I am not a fan of the polyurethane or epoxy paints either. I tried those on another garage. After a while they look like crap from welding and running the floor jacks around. Let us know what you decide on and how it works out. I have no good advice to offer for that...

Been a while since I've updated. Done a little grading and just finished pouring another 20 1/2 yards of concrete. The electric should be starting in the next week or so.

Its been a while since I have updated my thread. I have finished wiring and insulated the walls with R13. I had a guy down the rode from me do the drywall. He did an excellent job and probably 100X faster than I could.

That looks real nice! I've been slow with my garage reno with a 14 month old boy who smiles way toooooooo much when I walk in the door!

Did I mention how much I hate to paint:banghead:. Took a few weeks, but paint is on. Just a few places left that need touching up. I also trimmed out the top of the block.



My UPS guy was proud of me when I ordered my flooring. Only 17 pieces weighing 44lbs each and came with free shipping. This is Racedeck brand flooring. It was really easy to put down, the only time consuming part was trimming in.
