deer hunters

Well guys I shot a grown one this morning. He weighed 185 lbs and he was stank! Had about 5 does with him. Something looked different thru my scope (apprx 300 yds). I knew he was wide but I thought the antlers were just low. Man if he hadn't broke off his main beams!!!!! Arghhhhhh! Still a nice buck in anyone's book!

VERY NICE! Looks like an older deer. Did you shoot him at 300 yds? If so that makes it even more impressive!! The broken beam just adds character. Are you going to mount?

I prolly passed up the 2nd biggest I've ever had walk in front of me this morning. I could see him thru my binocs as he dodged in and out of a cut-down. But lI ost him every time I looked thru my rifle scope. It was early and some fog. As I kept glassing thru the dang scope it began to fog up! He wasn't as big as last weeks buck but he had his full rack and it was purdy white. Will be shelling out some money for german glass by next season.

Wanted to update a good thread. Yep, deer season has started for those around here. We have had some serious problems with hogs lately. Been hunting them hard for the last two months. But Saturday dem witches made the mistake of staying in the corn field too long and I lit up three of them in less than 20 secs! In all we got 4 sows, but 6-7 pigs managed to run away. I gave away two pigs and processed one, it weighed 250 lbs, for my dad.

I haven't even sat in a stand yet. Since my bro-inlaw and I work together, he asked off for this past week ( the week we all go hunting at Bear Island and camp out) So I've been anxiously waiting to hunt!
