can you hear me know?

a few of you may or may not know, that our girl Emily has had a few ear surgeries. started when she was round 2...she had to get tubes. that went good, then later on...she need tubes again. well, the tubes fell out right, but her left ear never healed up and the hole never closed.

the 1st doctor tried a skin graph-FAILED

then he tried it again-FAILED

changed doctors, and he said there was a 30-40% chance he could fix it...well it too FAILED
...so we did what he suggested and waited til she was older...6yrs later we started talking bout it again. this whole time her hearing has been dropping and all the custom ear plugs, etc.

now since she is 11, we set a date and a plan...Aug1st. she had no more ear drum(completely gone and 80% hearing loss) so the doctor built hear a completely new drum...we went yesterday for our 1st check up. the cartilage had good blood vessels, and the body had not rejected it. he said one more week of ear drops and next moday...she can treat it like a normal ear. no more ear plugs for swimming or playing in the water. her hearing has already started showing signs of coming back!! we are so stoked:xyxthumbs:

our girl has been one heck of a trooper through out all this! we love that girl!

That's great news for the family Chuck! I'm sure that is a lot of stress lifted off a concerned fathers mind. Congratulations!
