Time to tear her down!!

Gutted it all down to the bare tub. Everything was unbolted and the tub came right off (with the help of the lift).

The first pic has my little helper proudly displaying his handiwork. I wish the teardown process went as quickly as making these last 2 posts.

Nice Chuzie. And yes, another project that hasn't used a gallon of gas in a year. Great fuel mileage so far!

Well, I'm further along than the pics show, but it will be a while before I get it done. I'm hoping by this time next year.... Sounds like a long ways off but the body work is time consuming. I might farm it out if I can find someone to do it good/cheap/quick. Well, I'd take good and cheap anyway. With body work, I don't think you get any of the 2 together.

All that aside, I'm officially about double into the original purchase price of the truck, and it wasn't a cheapie!! Here are few pics of (some of) the goodies that have showed up. Some of the highlights are:

EFI accessories, sensors, fittings, harness parts

So between work, my computer dying, and a general lack of time, I haven't been keeping this thread current.

Right now, the chassis is about done. I painted it with a product I've been wanting to try. Southern Polyurethanes epoxy primer and 'hot rod' black (semi-flat). Both of these paints are in line pricewise with the POR, KBS, and comparable products but I'm hoping they are better. It has been 4 months since the chassis was painted and the overspray still hasn't come off of my 'junk' work glasses. That is a good sign, as the other kinds will come off after a month or so. I'm sure that this is a good way to indicate how good a product is....

The chassis got new stainless hard lines, rebuilt C-4 as shown above, rebuilt 302 and will receive the Explorer intakes and Mustang MAF EFI stuff, new WH track bar riser, extreme U-bolt kit, and anti-wrap bar. A set of NicksTrix shackes was thrown in for good measure.

Man, you're fast. It took me a few minutes to get them up. Anywho, here are a few more of the chassis. For some reason, I can only add 5 pics at a time.

FYI, the 'horns' on the chassis are for tying the roll cage to it, and the rear shock mounts were fabbed from some angle iron and some precision mitering. I'm glad I have a MIG welder. 1/4" gaps are no problem to fill It wasn't that bad, but it would have sucked to try to TIG all that.

EDIT: I still can't upload pics from Explorer. I'm using FireFox now and it seems to be working...
