Clean Title

I am parting out a 68 that was rusted beyond saving. My question is, is it legal to sell the glove box lid and clean title? Does anybody know?

Legally you are required to have the frames VIN stamp with the title, but that's here in SC. Are both spots on ur frame beyond reading? In NC it may be different from county to county. I think I caught SC DMV on a bad week bc they threw the book at me. They told me its illegal to remove a stamped VIN from a frame and apply it to a better frame. I mean mymDMV wanted to put eyes on the frames VIN stamp. Without the VIN they would not transfer the title to my name since it was from GA. You may be able to sell it to someone in another state. I have a another GA title and matching GB door and they won't transfer the title bc I have no frame. All this was a lesson learned.
But I do know people sell clean titles and GB doors on Classic Bronco, some sales not including the frame. I've seen some selling the section where the VIN stamp is at. Technically that illegal but people do it. As I said earlier, some states go by the GB door which isn't the vehicles official VIN.

I have the frame but didn't see any numbers on it. Not sure where to look. I put new body mounts, front shock hoops, and dual rear shock mounts. Had it blasted and powder coated for a West Coast tub. So now I'm wondering if I screwed up. I don't know about NC, so if I have the Oregon Title with the Oregon tub on the frame from the rusted NC truck I may run into problems. I guess I could sell the frame, the GB, and the title together. But I would probably loose my shirt.

This may help you look for it on the frame. I took this earlier this week. Used a small wire wheel. Of course it was a lot easier with the tub off. This is the area where the back of the block meets the tranny. If you have all three then you can get anywhere $200-$500 depending on the market and condition of the frame.

I believe 68 was pre smog year so its worth lots out west! My 77 will catch hell in Cali with their emissions tests.

I parted out I believe a 68 or 69 bronco around 10+ years ago and I got 300 bucks for the clean title and glovebox door. I think the person who purchased it was from out west I think California

A good average for title/glove box is $200... I wouldn't mind having one just in case

I've got a few because I won't sell them. Guess I just don't trust some folks. In NC, I've never had an inspector look for a frame VIN. They only check the glovebox and take pictures of it all. You will need to have it inspected to transfer an out of state antique vehicle. 35 years or older are deemed antique.
