Just seeing this.

I frequent a number of forums, and they are all down these days. I try to check in here everyday, even though I don't post much. I build slow as molasses but try to update my thread as it moves along, even though it isn't Bronco related. Many folks, including shops/businesses have moved to posting pics and build info on Facebook & Instagram these days, as they say its easier and that's where the clients are at. I don't frequent either so Im out of the loop. If there was a way to integrate a forum into it, to show their pics and posts, that would be cool.

As others have mentioned, I like coming here vs Classic because everyone is local. I try to start here, but many times I end up going to Classic to find tech answers. Ive tried to get some friends with EBs to join here, but they aren't much into forums.

I know that events have been discussed. I think trying to pull in the restoration types might help boost numbers. I like many of you aren't crazy into car shows, but getting folks that aren't into offroading but into broncos might help. I know this seems to work well for the Jeepster/Commando club. They have a yearly Club Event/Ride in the SE, and pull the offroaders along with the restorers. It is a 4 day ride with Thursday, Friday & Sunday being wheeling days and Saturday being a site seeing/driving day. I can assist with more info about this if wanted.

Along that same note, maybe holding/sponsoring an offroad event at a Private park once/multiple times a year would help get the word out. Could possibly do something with a fundraiser mixed in. When BDB owned a park, we did this to raise money for the year. I know clubs have done things like this at the Flats. Might be an option to discuss with Gulches or MudDeviles playground to get something closer. Could be something that is joined with another club(s) and have a big banner and tent set out.

I also, think that advertising helps. Having the swag out there to get the name out. Maybe donating swag to raffles/auctions/etc that occur during offroad events/fundraisers.

I know all of these things take money and/or time, but I wanted to throw it out there.

Also, as mentioned before, NC4x4 has club sections. I know it would lead more for 4x4 vs Broncos, but will give a place where everyone in the club can still communicate or post threads/builds/sale/etc. You can even set your club forum such that it can be viewed publically, or privately or a mixture. Most forums allow you to follow others and see when they post. Could likely even link another forum back to here for the folks just seeing this site and the archived info.

Great info! Sounds like we have some stuff to chew on at our next meeting. I am starting to agree we need to diversify and bring in the resto crowd.

Hey Fellas, I'm also an absentee member posting up for the first time in a while. I just finished reading this entire thread and some others that haven't seen in a while. I can only give a general excuse that my life has changed dramatically in the last year (had a baby, changed jobs, bought a house, moved my mother-in-law in along with moving and selling her house in Atlanta) that has contributed to my lack of presence on here lately. I have managed to stay in fairly close contact with Chuck and I have made his garage my personal hideout when I needed a few moments for myself.

As to to the subject of Club survival, I personally would hate to see this forum and folks disband. The ideas presented earlier in this thread are all valid and worthy of debate. I do not have any new ideas to present at this time. I will endorse the Facebook/Instagram promotions as a good way to build the site activity. I also feel that the attendance of local show and shine events Is also a great way to promote our visibility. I'm also not completely against becoming a sub forum to Classicbroncos.com. albeit Jon has said no in the past and I'm speculating that it's still not an option now.

A special thanks to all the folks that have kept the fire burning on here even as it has dwindled to the size of a flame on a small candle.

I look forward to seeing all the familiar faces and some new ones at the November Run this year.
