I thought it was $10 a year. Chuzie referred to it in the below quote.

Chuzie wrote : I wouldn't mind using the shirts to raise some $ for the forum. We are in need of a software upgrade and the dues don't come close to getting us there. Let me look into a few options that are self service so no one person has to deal with what has traditionally been a nightmare.

blazinchuck Wrote:having a "closed forum" is a double edged sword...i cant tell you how many times people have linked a site, picture, or build thread only to find out...i have to join that site to finish seeing what i clicked on to see. aggravating! personally if someone finds our site, i want them to sit and check it out for a while.

as for give-aways...sure thats a great thing when you have an active site and over 100 paid members, then when the item is offered to just those paid ppl, those who havent paid end up feeling like they've missed out on something great again. in the past, ive had the free memberships to hopefully build our "paid members" and make others want to upgrade. as for paid members, i find those are the ones always looking to better the site, they have invested and wish to see it grow...and i feel the same way. i'll probably always continue my membership with classic broncos, because i know i can go there, search and ask questions. when i started this many many moons ago...it was based off a yahoo group page, and then you had to be a paying member(always $10/yr dues) and that gave you forum access. but we quickly changed that because paypal wasnt a option back then. i also did other things like sent a sticker with every membership due that was paid in. ive always wanted to show i was a part of a group, always wanted to get a sticker, shirt or whatever. never bothered me to purchase those...but seems like no days...ppl just want free. and i can tell ya...stickers for me, arent free.

as for the shirt give a way, im cool with it, and i think it being offered to just forum members is the best way. lets face it, those on facebook may never come here...some ppl hate forums, then there are those that hate facebook, etc. its been ten years, and i really do want to see a lot more years. so if you(anybody) wants to see us stay around and build...simple post up, login and say hey, post a pic, or even ask a question. conversations are key here and on any forum. we dont have 30k members, so there wont be anyone else to carry us for a couple days...we're local, and need local(cb4x4 members) to check in and post up.

im not even sure ive made any sense, ive been trying to type this for 2 hrs in and between work here tonight ...ok, ill shut up now:banghead:

yall have a nice day while im sleeping, when yall read todays post:bdent::toothy12:

I understand we can not close off the forum but maybe something like the most valuable sections such as tech section we can limit to full members, there may be other areas we can do the same way but something to think about and pursue. To add to that if we make the tech articles section for full members maybe we have a free tech article of the month each month that anyone can see, it doesn't have to be new it coule be one of the many written ones.
I am not on FB so I don't know if all theese ideas would work or not, but maybe each time we have an event put it on FB and maybe even geo location tag it don't know if there is a way we can set it up with some of theese aps that have things happen in an area and someone is looking for something to do and it pops up if they are in our area, would mostly help when we do regional meet and greats. Also not FB but each time a MG happens if 2 or more people plan to get to gether bump it up on CB4x4 as a top upcoming item and on FB, you start by getting 1 or 2 people to theese regional outings extra and then they bring one or 2 to the next one and things slowly start to grow. If we can keep the regional meet and greets happening either monthy or quarterly or more that means more traffic. I look at FB as a stepping stone to get the word out about events and maybe they come to an event and then join the club. Sorry if I am rambling, hope some of the ideas are useful.

Our limiting factors for non-members have traditionally been pictures and classifieds. The tech section is referenced globally on multiple sites. If we restrict it, we will be doing a major disservice to the community as it is not limited to CB4x4 interests.
