This happened just this past Saturday.
For those that do not know, Deborah was the District Ranger at Uwharrie.

This is from the FOA page:

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Deborah Walker, Uwharrie District Ranger.
Our deepest sympathy to her sweet husband, James.
Funeral services will be announced once they become available.
At present, please give James and her immediate family space so
that they can make arrangements and grieve their loss.
Thank you.

She was one of our biggest supporters and advocates for URE trail system and I had the pleasure of dealing with her frequently regarding the closure of Kodak. I am sad to hear of this and terrified who the FS will replace her with.

This could have a potentially massive effect on the future of URE.
