Whoo Hoo, Fooooood!!! I'm almost 4 months pregnant so I'm sure the people @ the food stand and I will be seeing alot of each other on Sat.

I understand not have adult beverages at DC's because they are not comfortable with it or if there is a possible legal issue about it. Then that is fine, but why would I not be able to because of someones kids. As long a people keep it under control (not drunk), then I do not see the problem with it. All I am saying here is, at every event we go to, for the most part people drink. Most not out on the trail, but the kids are still all around at the camp ground. I am just not sure why that would even be part of the question?

I would have to ask, that no one(mainly CB4x4 Members) brings any adult drinks. This is DC's property and they are hosting the event. If something like that happened, they could throw us out, and never allow us back.

Thats kinda like saying... I drink at home around my kids, why cant I do it in public around yours? I work and so does everyone else...so we can all go without if need be... refer to previous post Please. If it were on private land and a private club event...I think that would be fine,but it's not either.:biggthumpup:

As club officer I will chim in and say thet it would be apreciated if adult beverages be left at home or at the camp ground. It could cause problems with our sponcers or possible legal issues.
What happens after the event is over at the resturant or at the camp ground is your own choice. Thanks to Rhonda and David there will be food and refreshments so lets all have a good time. Thanks.

The point that I was trying to make earlier is not that kids have an ultimate bearing on the festivities in which we partake in public but rather that, in some cases, the parents do not believe in drinking (nothing wrong with that at all) and they naturally pass those beliefs to their children.

When they go out into a public setting I am sure they would prefer if those they socialize with on occasion did not contradict the values they try to instill in their children. Granted they should teach their children to recognize what is, in their eyes, right and wrong and to make the correct choices. Furthermore, I would certainly hope they do not expect us (the public) to aide them in successfully keeping those children in a bubble until they fly from the nest.

Some may just say "fine, then stay at home with the kids and shelter them so we can enjoy ourselves” and that is not the attitude to have. There is no reason a group of reasonably diverse people cannot get together and enjoy each other’s company without drinking. That is what friends do for one another.

With all that said, I drink at home, I drink in public with and without my kid and other peoples' kids. Does that make me a hypocrite after what I just said? No. I do promise that the day someone tells me they feel uncomfortable with my drinking or would rather not have their kids exposed, I will, without reservation, respond with "You know what, that is perfectly ok. You are my friend and I completely understand." I can drink later, who cares.

One the flip side, indirectly related to this conversation, there are people who are recovering alcoholics and find it difficult to be in an alcohol saturated environment. I will leave it at that.

Frankly I don’t even think that kids are even the heart of the alcohol issue in this thread and I don’t even know why I am still going on 30 lines later. The sponsor of the event is who we are respecting so we can come back another day. No problem with that right.

Anyway, I regret I am not going to be there to hang out with everyone and party afterwards.

i drink but i have to agree with chuck on this one. i'll save mine for afterwards.
besides, how's it gonna look when we are out there representing cb4x4 and regular customers roll in or some family passing by stops to look at our broncos and 15 of us are standing there with a beer in our hands. i vote that it can wait until later. i love a cold one but this is about respect to dc , donating vendors, local customers, and our forum.

Holy hell. I'm sorry I asked. The question has been answered and it appears the dead horse has been beaten thoroughly. In that case, I will just be doing lines of blow off the hood of my bronco...in front of the first 3 year old I see.
