  Uwharrie, Adopt a trail?
Posted by: JayT - 01-24-2010, 09:52 PM - Forum: Wheeling Events - Replies (37)

We finally heard back from the FS late last fall about adopting a trail at Uwharrie. Before we commit to anything as a club, we wanted to gauge interest (and a real commitment) of how many of us we could get (people or rigs) to volunteer on workdays.

At a minimum, it would be 2 workdays (trail passes are free) a year, with mostly garbage pickup. There are certain days (FS determines) where they provide all the tools, and materials for trail repairs (guardrails, signs, etc)... We would need to pick a trail (although they all "supposedly" have been adopted), but before we do, let's see a raise of hands before we adopt and fall flat.

Who's in? I'm definitely in for 2 free wheelin trips! Who else?

Thanks!
JayT

  MEB Shootout 2010
Posted by: nhopman - 01-22-2010, 02:26 PM - Forum: Wheeling Events - Replies (2)

Well, this is normally the time to announce the Shootout, but this year, My time off work is going to be limited, and I am planning on going to the BroncoDriver celebration in TN, April 15-17. So I am not going to be able to take the time off work to do the Shootout as I have done in the past.

So, I was thinking we could just have a planned trail ride weekend around the same time frame. I should be able to do a Saturday & Sunday ride. I'm booked April 24-25, 2010 which would be around the normal time, but May 1 & 2 looks good for me.

So if first of May looks good let's plan on a weekend at URE.

Nick

PS: Post up if other dates work better for you, or if someone else wants to head up the event, that would be great as well.
