What I've been up to lately...
#1
I've always wanted a manual in my bronco, so i figured "there's no time like the present"

Thanks to Aaron (bucketobolts) this followed me home. 1977 NP435 & NP205.

A little disassembly & cleaning
[Image: img_0787.jpg]

Few coats of paint
[Image: img_0791.jpg]

Add some additional parts & tools
[Image: img_0807.jpg]

And remove the BW1356 & E4OD
[Image: img_0813.jpg]

So that's why you drain the torque converter first!! :error:

Then you switch brake pedal assemblies. I used a hydraulic clutch set up.

And this sorta ended up happening. It's all back together now.

New flywheel & pilot bearing installed
[Image: img_0829.jpg]

Trans being bolted up
[Image: img_0832.jpg]

It fits!

Had to make a new crossmember. It's a piece of 5" c-channel i found laying around the shop.

205 is bolted up, too
[Image: img_0837.jpg]

Now i'm wondering whether I should put a flange on the 205 or put a yoke on the 8.8. Either way I've gotta wait for $$ to come in first.

Other than that, I have to shorten/lengthen driveshafts, bypass the neutral safety switch and buy a starter. 2 of those 3 are waiting on me to find a job that'll work around my class schedule.

Thanks!
I tried the stock mount on the 205, but it wouldn't reach the frame. Guess I'll make something else work.

i was going to weld a flat plate with a slot in it onto one part of that stock mount, so it would have more adjustment in it. But you're right, a spacer would be simpler.
