Chuck - There is only 6" between the back of the knuckle and the casting for the leaf spring perch (measured on the front side of the axle). I've got my Cage bracket welded aprox 4" from back of knuckle, or 6" of end of axle tube. The cage bracket is very close to the old leaf spring mount - in fact we cut some of the leaf spring mount off with a cut off wheel to get enough room to weld that side of the bracket.

That looks like a '78-79 model D60. My '89 only has a little over 2.5" between the knuckle C and the perch casting. Really tightens things up on the drivers side.

well, absolutely nothing has been going on...completely lost the drive. Gonna try to get back on it this weekend.
