I runs again! This da## truck has been sitting for a while! I rebuilt the C6 Transmission over the past month, could easily do it again, but was a PITA to make sure I got it right.
I usually have good luck with fixing up and old vehicle I get for a deal and just start driving it, but this one broke down on me about 5 times now and that just pi$$ed me off, so I put it on a back burner.
It runs great and I need to put the rear drive shaft in it, going to buy six point bolts for the cardan joint instead of the 12 point and get the tag renewed today.
I am having a problem with the mechanical fuel pump not priming itself. If it sits more than just overnight the new fuel pump will not pull fuel. I have a hand vacuum pump that I can disconnect the fuel line at the carb and pull fuel up to it and then it will run indefinitely, once it is primed it works fine. It did the same thing before so I put the new pump on. Short of replacing the tank and the lines I was thinking of putting an electric pump in instead. Any suggestions?
I have been collecting parts for a SAS swap, have the axle, springs, radius arms etc from a 79, but that will be a while.
