Trail maintenance right now consists of maintaining our trail
Ok, the biggest things we usually encounter are the stream crossings. A few have log 'bridges' and the others are rock armored. These have been the main focus of our efforts. Otherwise, trash clean up is always needed. Other projects include clearing downed timber, cleaning out the drainage ditches, and fixing split rail fence as needed. Nothing is overly hard, as we don't have the man power or machinery to do big tasks. The govt contracts those jobs out.
The work days are fun and generally not militant. The winter work days when the park is closed (Jan-March) get a large turn out and we get a lot of stuff done. The summer is very weakly attended. Fall and spring work days are generally good because the weather is pleasant. Work days are usually the 3rd Saturday of every month and go from 9am-3pm at the longest. When we get a priorty thing that must get taken care of, I'll announce it and plead for help (more so than usual).
Also, if you make it out to our Nov URE run, we do work on that Sunday. It'll give you a good idea for what all goes on. It is pretty low key.
