This doesn't help your VSS issues, but I may still have a rear 60 and HP solid 44 with 8 lug conversion available. I got it YEARS ago for my bronco and stored it at a friends house, I'm assuming they still have it. I've since gotten a front 60 and now contemplating drinking a big glass of 'fukitall' and just locating some Rocks.
If your interested, I can give them a call and see if they still have them, then it's just a matter of finding a weekend when I can run up there to pick them up (they're in the Northeastern part of the state).
Let me know,
MoMo

That is a good deal! I'd love to steal these if I were ready to do my swap...
You know, I don't remember the speed sensor being on my 8.8 either. I'm pretty sure that it's on the trans on my 90... I'll go out and see later tonight... (not that it matters, you should check yours to be sure, Kenny)

If you have an E4OD, which a 90 should, then you have some type of vss. This is how the cpu knows what your vehicle speed is, thus when to shift the transmission.Ford had some that were mounted to the transmission/transfer case and this could be the case with yours.
I wasn't trying to rain on your parade with this vss stuff but you don't want to do a swap and be stuck in low gear.
If it's mounted in the pumkin you just need the 10.25 out of a 250 or 350 withh vss(92-98 for sure)to make everything work.:xyxthumbs:
