this is my original post on another forum from sat. night >>>>>>>>>
i just got home from dropping moneypit off at the shop. we are lucky to be alive right now. we had a fire in the trailer while traveling down the road over 70mph and had no idea it was even going on. we stopped for fuel and as we were leaving chris decided he needed a drink from the cooler in my trailer. all i heard was THE TRAILER IS ON FIRE !!!!!!! i bailed from the truck and ran to the back with chris. we yanked the door open and you couldnt see the car from the smoke. a trucker was filling up his fuel right beside me so i got his fire extinguisher and tossed it to dale and bigmike grabbed another one from inside the store. i unhooked my dually from my trailer and moved it out of the way. then we poured water all over the back of moneypit to put out the smoldering fire. the flames were already gone due to no air in the trailer with the doors shut to feed the fire . smoke damage all through the trailer and car. there was a full tank of race fuel in the car, 3 full nos bottles, one full propane tank on my grille, one half full can of gas, one generator full of gas ready to blow us clean off the road. gods angels were with us today for sure.
when we got to dales we all stripped the back of the car including the hatch, tail lights, blowed tire, bumper, wing , interior panels. then we vacuumed the car out with a shopvac and washed the entire car inside and out . took us a while. we had another hatch, wing, bumper cover and tail lights so we started swapping it all out. gotta get her ready for 275 race next weekend. some re-wiring and she should be good to go minus paint. this is one heck of a team thats for sure. everybody came over to pitch in and help out. thanks everyone. tomorrow we try to clean up the trailer and finish up the car.
