That's where I would be, one of the 50 , I will come if I can , but I cannot commit to it. :banghead:
But if there is a tentative 'may also come' list, put me on that one.

I’ve mentioned it before and will again. Instead of jumping right in and adopting a trail, and since all the trails are already sponsored any ways, lets try to have a club presence at some of the regular work days. We all have other things going on in our lives and I’m sure there will be times when people will have other things going on that will come before picking up someone else’s beer cans on the trials of URE. And, the only real advantage I see to officially adopting a trail is that you get your name an a little plaque at the trail head - BFD!.
The nice thing about the workdays is that people don’t have to choose between just one or two dates, they hold work days about once a month so if we could get just a few CB members (even just 1 or 2) at each work day instead of trying to narrow our choices down to a couple of days a year, I think that would go a long way to show our commitment to the forest and keeping the trails open. I’m not really sure how it all works, but I believe the more people you have at a work day, the more hours the Rangers can turn in which increases the budget amount for further trail maintenance and upgrade projects.
Once the workday dates are posted, lets start a thread of who’s coming and when and if JayT doesn’t mind keeping contact with the rangers to let them know CB4X4 will be there I really think that would be as good as adopting a trail.

Are we sure that all the trails have been adopted? When we were at URE in the fall I spoke with some guys from another club that has a trail, and they thought one or two were still open. If I remember correctly it was the longer trails because they were even talking about splitting them. If they are taken, then a solid club turnout at the regular workdays is a great alternative. Anything we can do to show support and keep URE open is worth going out of your way for. Anybody know when they post those workdays and where to look out for them?

I was looking at this site and it looked like all the trails have been adopted by clubs.

also on that site I read this:

Most of the Adopted trail groups are getting in touch with me at arrowhead or Calling the office and talking to Terry Savery about when there group is planning on coming or could come to work. We are trying this becauce most all the trails are adopted now. thank you for your interest.
So if they aren't setting up scheduled work days, maybe we can see when other groups are going to be there and help them out. Or would it be possible that when we get together as a group for a regular event there, just make part of the event be a half day of work I think the main thing is that we need to make the Ranger aware that we are there so that our hours can be recorded and filed.
I don't have a problem with adopting a trail if one is available or even sharing a trail with another club if need be, I will make every effort to be there when needed for a work day.

As a club we are commited to working with the forest sevice too keep URE open. The more groups that step forward too keep all the trails open will be a sign of how importent the area is to off roaders.
I dont care if they put our names up at all, what matters is that the higher ups in the forest service know how importent keeping everything open is to us.
We will be chosing a trail to adopt, then will try and set the work days. We may even be paired with another club to adopt the trail.
As soon as we know what the work days are we will put them up. If you cant come out and help those days, I encourage you to check with some of the other clubs that are also adopting trails and help them on there work days.
Lets all work together too keep URE as enjoyable now and in the future.
