talk to me about explorer rear 8.8's what kind of ratios are there and any factory lockers or posi's?
i think i decided on a mustang II with coilovers($1800!!! wow), seems some of the guys had had issues finding a coil spring that rides nice with a ride height. simple axle flip in the rear with a "C" notch.

not sure on the factory things but i know you can buy a mini spool for rear and all sorts of gears...talk to 200f150sas he has a 8.8 rear end with a posi and 4.88 gears for sale..just a thought and very reasonable...
If you can't fix it with a hammer and a welder then your gonna need a new one!

did you sell FBG yet? saw it was pending on NC4x4. just curious. hope the sale goes/went well.
not sure if you found any info on the 8.8's. a lot of Heep guys choose the Explorer rear axles, as they are 5x4.5 and have discs. If you go that route, you'd need to redrill the rear or make the front match the rear to have the same lug pattern. The full size stuff is 5x5.5 but is a lot wider. Not sure if you plan to cut/narrow the housing, but my guess is that you would. If it were me, I'd just use a cut down 9" and run 31 spline stuff in it. something is telling me you already got a housing a while back, but i can't remember for sure.
