Body is off!
#41
well, all the panels are hung, and i think i got a good rough sand on the tub. ready to spray the first coat of primer this weekend hopefully. also, i got the engine off the frame, and almost ready for the final coat of rust bullet on the frame. Big thanks to crawdad for coming out and helping me get the motor off, and the body in the garage. also, he put his metal skills to work and helped line up and burn in my rear quarters. School is demanding too much time right now, and slowing down progress, but i only have a month left to go on that. unfortuantely the heat of summer is right around the corner, and thats gonna bring things to a snails pace... still motivated, just gotta fabricate some time... laid the first coat of primer down. im not real enthused about how its spraying. spray is real thin, takes several passes just to start to cover. maybe thats how its supposed to be, but i thought it would coat a little thicker in a pass, like one pass to cover, another to recoat. maybe not. regardless, i should be done spraying by tomorrow, and have it sanded smooth. hopefully be ready to test spray the paint on a test peice on sunday... now to finish my homework...

you did stir the primer really well, right? primer has a habit of settling really badly. you might use a little less thinnner to try and thicken it up a bit. i've had some primers spray thin as well. kinda sucks because it takes that much longer- and i hate body work...

looking forward to seeing some pics!!!

i got it dialed in today, i had to make some gun adjustments, as well as mixing adjustments. went down super smooth and covered in one pass. im gonna do a light sand to smooth the whole thing back out, and then lay down 2 more good coats with a light sand in between coats. then some color... 8)
