broncosbybart Wrote:waiting on chuzie to see if/when he is available and if he could come up here. does anyone else know how to set gears up? it would be great to have another person around who could. it would make the day go a lot better.

gear installs can take some time even especially for myself...since i dont do it every day.

chuzie is getting front and rear gears/shafts,and diff guards(tires and beadlocks-if they ever get here)...nothing alot of ppl can really help with.

that date is sounding fine with me also.

I thought about Big Country also but I haven't seen any updates on the build thread in a while and I wasn't sure if you were ready to get back to it.

I also thought about my Bronco. I've got a couple of things that need some attention.

Fix the engine vibration- droping the trans and replacing the flexplate.
Rear drum brakes need an overhaul.
Install the power steering pump and hoses. (picking up today).
I'm sure I think of a few other things.Confusedupergrin:

For Chuzie's rig, it could be something that we could do in a day. I have a set of 44 setup bearings that I made a while back. If someone could set up the 9" gears (a lot easier to do) while I was working on the front, it could be knocked out in about 1/2 of a day. Nothing much could get done while the gear work was being done though. Perhaps working on a 2nd rig, like Doug's, could happen during that time. it wouldn't be too hard to do the drum brakes and ps stuff. the trans on the other hand would be a pretty big job.

Any and all feedback/input is welcomed! I do know that Asiel is no good for the 1st Sad

I sent out a mass pm on it. been getting some good input. keep it coming!!!

If I can make it I have all the tools and have done many(heck its what do for a living).
The one thing you may need that I dont have (coudnt bring it if I wanted) is a press. It is nessesary to put on the bearings onto (and off) the pinon. Bart, do you have one there?

Well guys I can't make it on the first. I have Drill that weekend. This is the kind of stuff I'd love to be part of. I look forward to the next Turn and Burn. I could use the help in replacing a few floorboards. Again, I wish I could be there! Thx for the opportunity Charles!

I have a press. No issues there. Could use another dial indicator to set back lash, if you've got one you wanna bring along (if we end up doing some gears). Sucks that you can't make it Crawdad.

I am out of town the first two weekends of October. CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! I work too much.

Anyway, that means me and my rig will not be players this time. I am going to try to knock out the gears and stuff the weekend of Sept 17th as I am pretty much booked solid from then all the way to the middle of October and cannot risk putting it off until then. That is way too close to URE to be wrenching on my stuff. I already promised myself I am NOT wrenching on that f'ing Bronco all the way to midnight the night before URE; too much stress, and I am not putting myself through that again.

Sorry guys.

can someone bring your rig up for you? it might be better off if you weren't there. that way you wouldn't see if we screwed something up or added a few surprises along the way Big Grin
