What Clay said! The course was in great shape. Shocks worked awesome. Biggest things now are a louder horn (so that people can get the heck out of our way), and steering. It was still slow to steer. This was probably accentuated by our going faster, with the nice suspension setup.

We ended up pretty much running over 1 Cherokee. They were cool with it but said they couldn't hear our horn. We got beat by a Toyota Tacoma IFS truck by about 30-40 seconds. 3rd was 8 seconds behind us. It was a tight race! We would have won it if I hadn't literally driven us into the ditch on the 2nd or 3rd lap. I thought we were going to roll it. Got out of some ruts and wound up over the bank and into a big dug out gulley, listing to the port side at about a 45 degree angle. My head wasn't thinking very straight in the heat of battle. There was actually a time I thought it was going to go over, but I wanted to get out of there and back on track as quickly as possible.

Trans temps got to about 240 by the end of the race. We gained and lost a lot of elevation every lap. It was a course mostly comprised of really tight woods running with a few hair pin turns, A LOT of ruts, roots, and rocks. I have no idea how the whole field went yet. There were 19 rigs on the books registered. It kills me to know we could have won if I hadn't been so boneheaded at the beginning of the race. No pics from this one unfortuantely. I never got the camera out. Wish we had a go-pro on for this one. It was a ride!

There was a jump that was made almost like a mexican booby trap in the Baja. Had a little face to it with about a 5' deep gulley dug out of it and we guessed it was probably 16' across. The guys pitted next to us had yard darted it while prerunning and snapped their front axle housing, axle shaft, and weren't sure what all else. We hit that sucker every lap but the first. It was awesome!!

Congrats! Sounds like fun and all of the hard work on the improvements paid off. Thanks for the update.

You plan on racing the full season now that the fever has set in?

Thanks guys! The fever has set in for sure. I am working with a local potential sponsor to get our us and our rig to/from the out of state venues. Will keep you guys posted. Still waiting to see some good pics of the Bronco. I do have these that I just copied.

Here is a picture of the little jump:

Here is the big jump (which we didn't do, but is still cool):

Here is the drivers meeting. Kind of gives a vantage point of some of the surrounding hills:

Here is a pic of the pit area where the start/finish line was. Our Bronco is visible on the right side of the pit area. Kind of like 1/2 way up, right behind our plain white 24' enclosed trailer.

A few pics of us on the line, waiting for the green flag!
