Its only screwed down for placement, I needed to be sure it was in the right spot before making the frame tie ins. If you like the spare tire holder wait until I make the swing away carrier for the hitch that holds gas cans, ect.
Some progress again, finished all the cage tie ins. The cage now sandwiches the body and then ties into the frame with rubber isolation bushing I got from summit. Very much like a track bar or leaf spring bushing. All 8 points of the cage are tied into bushings that
then go down to the frame. The engine cage mounts directly to the frame so it can be used for shock mounts. Total of 10 points of cage tie ins.
The spare tire assembly is also installed, it swings out from the inside to allow me access to the inside but not have to have the
tire on the outside of the body. All my supplies fit nicely on the inside and I have an old gas can I plan to turn into a tool box.
Next step is to rebuild the front axle Powerloc clutch kit and reseal the rear end. Soon to be onto the body work and bed liner. Of
course first I have to pull the cage back out and paint it.
I haven't really had time to get much done, I had a major electrical issue that cause my Honda cb750 to burn up. So lately I have been working rewiring the entire bike. I did manage to get some work done in between waiting for parts to show up. Resealed the rear axle and stuck it under the truck. I need to put shock mounts on it still. I'm also rebuilding the front axle completely.
I hope to be back on it soon, just need to finish building a motor for a friends 94 bronco.
Rebuilt the dana 44 powerlok and put in new axle seals. Stripped and repainted the housing and steering lincage. Lubed the himes and ball joints. Getting ready to put it back under. Chromo shafts will be on order soon for the front end. New seats too. The aluminum plate leaning on the tub will go under the floor to help dissipate the heat. I also have all the parts for the rocker bars and ski's
