Starter and fan on the way......and no fender mod dual diaphram power brake setup for the dialy driver build. Looks like another couple of months of baloney sandwiches!! At least I have a couple of days of turkey to get me started!! Chuzie, have you and your truck recovered yet?

Well, it has been two weeks since the disaster, of what was formerly known as the 2012 November Run, concluded.

The joint was crowded like a sardine can (severe understatement!) from the get go. Last year I think we managed to hit every trail on that park in a day and had time left to run again all night! This year, I think we were lucky to see 4 or 5 total. There were a bunch of factors working against us, but in the end the result, IN MY OPINION, was the same: this year's Nov run was, more or less, a social hour rather than a wheeling event.

The fact that I destroyed the ligaments in my right foot trying to save some stupid girl from eating a 4-wheeler on Dutch John (bobsled) did not help matters at all. I firmly believe God put me there that day to do what I did. For the record, if I had to make that choice to jump into the trench again, I would do it in a heartbeat; stranger or not, all human life is valuable regardless of how stupid he / she may be. Maybe next time I will tuck and roll instead! :banghead:

I made every effort, post injury / hospital, to continue to try and salvage the weekend; trying to crawl on some of these rocks at night using your left foot while the right is in pain was not safe so I called uncle and headed back to camp on Saturday night.

Sunday was a complete loss as we were all packed up and on the road before lunch without hitting the trails.

To add insult to injury, my pinion nut backed out on the interstate and I lost my yoke, slip yoke, and u-joint about 100 miles North of Charleston. The flatbed wrecker cost me about $250 and Lord knows how much damage we are looking at with the 3rd-member.

For the past two weeks, my rig has been hibernating in Chuck's backyard until I give enough of a crap to assess the damage and order expensive parts.

My ankle is royally fu***d. Going to try and make an appointment with the podiatrist sometime next week. I haven't slept in two weeks and I can't continue with the constant pain and dysfunction anymore nor can my liver continue to filter the mass quantities of Tylenol, Motrin, and alcohol I have been throwing at it in an effort to get by.

Hanging out with everyone around the campfire was awesome as was the Chili from Nick and Biff (oh, and the pseudo cornbread from Bart :xyxthumbsSmile. So in my rant, don't walk away with the impression I did not enjoy the company of my Bronco buddies or even remotely think I will not be going back next year! I love URE. This year, I just loved it less than I typically do. :crying:

So to answer Biff's question, in short, no and no.

I'm out- Time for another

Chuzie, I hate to hear that about the ankle. Let us know what the verdict is. If there is anything I can do for ya, let me know.

....OUCH!!! Damit!!! Not the answer I was hoping for. And VERY impressed by the quick action to jump right in!! I think ya'll saved that girl from getting seriously hurt!! Her husband had commented he almost killed her and was obviously shook up. Get to the doctor so you can get that ankle healed up right!
