headers and tires
#1
longtubes are pricey, shorties are decent but what i want to know is if anyone has used foxbody 302 headers? i have a 80 fsb with a 302 ive got a set of bbk equal length shortie headers from a fox laying around. ive got alot of room under the hood and from a general mock up they appear that they would clear the frame rails. i know i would need my exhaust redone to connect them but has anyone done this or is running them currently?

Also i currently have 15x?? size rims running 31x10.50 tires but i want to downsize to a stock rim and run a smaller tire, better street use considering it is a dd and a weekender vehicle. what is a good size tire to fit on a stock rim for light to medium mud and trail use that will also have some highway durability. i plan to run a good AT or MT tire. ive been looking a SUMMIT MUD HOGS and KUMHO ROAD VENTURES. not a fan of bfgs but im open to opinons. im currently looking for a set of stock rims so if anyone has some for a good price hit me up. im not looking to break the bank on stock rims that are probably laying around somewhere. i do have manual hubs idk if that makes a difference in the wheel center hole.

thanks guys!

The headers turn out slightly different then the stock headers so they are alittle closer to the firewall but you have to have your exhaust moved alittle under the hood. Other than that the rest of the exhaust should be the same so you shouldn't have any clearance issues. Idk about efi trucks. Mine is carbed and has plenty of room. Or appears to have anyway.

Couldn't tell ya on those headers in a BB, as for tires...I would think 31's would look just right on a stock BB. My old Dakota came with 31s. I run Firestone destination MT'S they have been great...for a little more I think bfg km2's would be better.

I really like the Destination M/T's as well. Have never run a set of KM2's, but a few guys I race with run them. General thinking is that they are a little flexy in the sidewall. Better for crawling, not so much for racing. Seen 1 get cut, but I've cut a few tires myself.

No experience with the headers on a FSB though.
