Gulches Trip??
#1
Chuzie's comment about a trip to the Gulches got me thinking. I have never been there, and being that it is only a touch over 200mi drive, it seems like it would be worth the trip down.

So, if anyone else might be interested, I was thinking maybe late August, early September would be a good time to go since it should be far enough in advance to make plans and get a few more people interested, but not too close to the URE Nov. trip to give people time to fix any breakage or make any mods.

If this sounds interesting let's post up some dates and see if we can get a weekend nailed down that works for the most people and get trip planned for the Gulches.

That may be tempting to drive my Bronco up for and leave it in Charleston until NovRun; military schedule permitting. Tim Baker is planning a trip to Tellico mid-September so perhaps late August is a good plan? Maybe consider Labor Day weekend?

Thanks for posting those dates. I for one am not a big fan of crowds so my feeling is to avoid those dates. So, looking at the calendar I say we shoot for either August 23rd or wait til September and go on the 6th or the 13th. Personally the dates in September probably work better for me, but post up your preferences and we'll see what works.

Labor Day weekend falls in there somewhere, doesn't it? Probably best to avoid that one as well, unless everyone is free then.

Other than that, I agree in trying to pick a 'slow' weekend and would like to get down there again.

I would be more inclined to attend mid September. Maybe i can do both gulches and tellico in one trip

When did tellico reopen?
If you can't fix it with a hammer and a welder then your gonna need a new one!
