Myrtle Beach Conway, SC area
I will be heading down to myrtle beach conway area tomorrow to puchase a bronco project and was wondering if anyone needs anything looked at or picked up in the area as I might be able to assist. If you do feel free to txt me 828-292-9025. I won't actually be picking the project up till after 6pm so will have some time to kill, if anyone wants to hang out or have me look at something.
Thanks
William

If you would of only planned it a day later I could of met up with you on your way back lol. I wasn't having fun last night waited almost 2 hours once I got there for the guy to show up only for him to end up sending a couple of workers to deal with me while he suposidley had a call to pick up a broken down state trooper as he is a wrecker driver. Only to find out he wasn't out on a call but got drunk at the party he was at and couldn't make it. Needless to say I searched for the vin and it wasn't in the usual spots I worked at it with my dewalt 18v drill till the battery was almost dead. So I got my suspension, got some nice axles and the tires are really nice some more wear then others, and enough brand new sheet metal to finish that blue tub I have other then the front clip and think I am only missing fenders there if the front clip I have from the other project isn't salvagable. We finally got everything loaded and strapped down around midnight. But then the trailer I had just bot one of the tires were flat so had to limp it to a gas station to air it up and then limp it to another place to get some fix a flat witch held it till I got home. But here is the kicker to the whole thing. At the end after we are done loading his worker pulls out the title and it isn't a 69 but a 66 NC title, now I havn't decoded the vin to see how early of a 66 it is so I will have to look at the frame in the 66 locations to make sure a vin isn't there.
Also where is the vin plate on the tub for a 66? Please don't say kick panel beside the emergency brake as that part of the metal isn't even there, that is unless I can do a marti report and get a replacement for that plate and rerivit it in.
More info soon after I decode the vin.

Quick update just brought the title in and It is a U13 but the build was in Aug 736842 so yeah I would say pretty early one of the ones done during the first month of production.
So any help or clues on exactly where to look for that vin would be helpful I do have the diagram and please correct me if I am seeing this wrong but it looks like it says it is on the the front mount for the rear leaf springs.

A 66 is a lil different. There are maybe two more locations for that year. There may be a third one on the frame, look at that diagram I sent you. The other location is on the tub. I'm not quite exactly where it's at but may be someone will chime in. I sent you a pic of the vins on my frame, go there with a hi speed wire wheel, use ur PPE! A U13 had a 6 cylinder so look for motor mounts that may have been cut off and v8 mounts welded on.

Yeah they did cut the motor mounts off and weld on V8 mounts I got some unknown fuel injected v8 as part of the package gotta figure out what it is. The trans looked nice till I scratched its pretty paint up laying all the body parts and sheet metal over it and picking it up scratching it.

There may be hope then. Start removing paint around where the VINs should be. Did you get the whole bronco?

I got everything he had as for the tub the only part of the front clip I got that was not new metal was the radiator support, also the kick panels that attach to the door posts that the doors bolt too where gone, most of the door posts where gone although there where some brand new one's ready to be installed with the stack of brand new sheet metal. Just looking at James Duffs prices for sheet metal only because that is the only catalog I had sitting on my desk handy to reference and just what I remember as there was a lot of other little pieces I will have to look up also there was at least 1600 worth of new sheetmetal in the deal.

If there are any others spots please let me know otherwise I will begin the search for another frame and put this one aside once I find another one. I will work at it a little more each day just in case I missed something but unless anyone has some more locations to check back to or time to begin cutting floor pans out on the body.
