As you know the URE forest has a winter closure. This year it is closing Dec 15, so Charles (Bart), Clay and I are planning one last trail ride on Saturday, December 13.
We will meet at the Outpost around 9:00 and head out from there.
Not planning on doing any hard work, just a fun trial ride.
Now the meeting part.
That evening the Freinds of Uwharrie is having a meeting at the Eldorado Community Center. It's not far from where the Outpost is. The meeting is not just for OHV users, but for everyone that uses the forest, but they are asking that all clubs that have adopted a trail and any others interested in keeping the OHV trails open to attend this meeting. They are looking to have as many from the 4wd clubs as possible. There will be representatives from the forest service there to talk to and answer questions.

This is going to be an important meeting to attend. We need to show the forest service that we as a group are willing to do whatever it takes to keep the trail we have open and to discuss what we can do to make sure there are no more closures, and possibly convince them to open up a few more new trials in the near future.
They will be providing food at the meeting and need a good head count, so post up here if you think you'll be able to attend.
