Driving from Northern California to Atlanta , Ga.
#11
Well the helicopter would not fly due to the forecasted rain. That means vacation starts a little early. Bronco tub is loaded and I am sitting at Wildhorses 4x4 getting ready to walk in and drool on everything. The crated tub is a little larger than I expected so it looks Like Atlanta and then up to Michigan.

Man, that is dedication. Drive safe during your travels!

Thank you for offering to pick up some stuff from WH. I thought about it but I didn't pull the trigger on anything.

Well I was 2300 miles or so into my 2644 mile trip home when I lost overdrive. The last 300 miles were really loud and fuel consuming. I figured the tranny was shot so I was going to burn it up or make it home. Got the trailer home and had a buddy check the tranny for me. OD band is gone and lots of shiny metal in the pan. So rebuild and a new torque converter in the works. I have over 135k on my old Ford and this is the first hiccup. Cannot complain really , I guess the ole girl deserves 2500 bucks. I have kept all fluids changed regularly , but I admit I am a little tuff on it with or without a trailer.
Got a lot of work to do in the basement to get ready for the new chassis. Just never enough time....

Never ends, does it??? At least you aren't snowed in somewhere.

Glad you made it home safe. Anxious to see what you're planning.

Of course TBP just put out their sale list. Lots of good deals. Not as good as the 100% off sale going on in ferguson, but still.

I am Ok with it. Like I said I have gotten 135k trouble free miles out of it. Well I replaced 2 coil Packs , so 48 dollars up to 135k. I had a pleasant drive and missed traffic most large cities so I am blessed.
