I will likely go ahead and upgrade to 31 when i find a locker for the rear. In the future i want to lock the front but think I will need to make the front selectable. Opinions are welcome on this subject as we all know I am a beginner with this subject.

http://www.wildhorses4x4.com/category/bronco_rear_axle i would consider these first, these are the ones i installed and they are nice, came with bearings already installed. and comes with beefy retainers.

Those retainers our suppliers sell are really nice I installed a set of them when I did the seals and bearings on the rear end of the Bronco I am working on.

I would vouch for a set of EB axles as well. Bolt on and go!
A 31 spline locker will work as long as it is for the 2.89" or 3.06" carrier bearings. They also make a 3.25" bearing but that locker is different from the other. If memory serves right they go by an "H" case or "B" case. Can't remember which is which but they don't interchange.
