Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab
It really is starting to feel like it's coming together. We worked on the console some more and got the aluminum panels cut and shaped to the frame. Also cut the holes for the 4 gauges in the console, the tach in the dash, the switch panel and radio in the dash.

Also finished the bumper and sprayed it with liner while we were shooting the tub.

The shackle mounts the same piece of steel as the mount that bolts to the frame horns. We cut the bumper on the front and rear and slipped the mount brackets through, added some steel to them for thickness, and drilled them for a 3/4" shackle. That way they'll be pulling directly on the frame.

No, can't shift it from 1st to reverse real fast, but I can always smooth the corners on the gates to make it a little smoother. It's the same shifter we have in Jessica's blue bronco and I have really liked it so far.

Here are a few pics of how we cut a stock steering shaft to lose all of the shifter mess. We are using the stock lower bearing and added the 3/4" heim to center the column. We still need to add a sleeve with set-screw to keep the shaft from sliding down.

Thanks! The heim fit like a glove.

The cage should go back in tomorrow, mount the seats and coilovers, and start some body work. Hopefully we'll have some good pics tomorrow evening.
