my full width axle build 5/23/07->10/28/07
not sure what im gonna have to do here. i could run a doubler(that would fix all of this) however, i cant do that with the stock wheel base and no time to 4-link now. i could jack the tcase/tranny up...but i think i need to raise the motor also. i might have to run solid motor mounts and tcase mounts, but make the motor mounts 1" taller so the tcase wont put the CV joint in a bind. look at the pics and give me some thoughts.

if you raise the motor up an inch you might be back at square one and considering a body lift. Is your hood already done?

What if you had the bolt in from the inside-out, is there enough room for just the head there?

yeah, the bolt head would fit...but i wanna be able to remove it without lifting the 205 if something happens on the trails. the hood is a highlander...so i have plenty of clearance to raise the motor up. just not sure what to do right now. this sucks

How many holes are in the cage bracket? Did you also weld on the brackets?
Here is an idea for you chuck, if its only one hole drill it out to the next bigger bolt size and tap the cage bracket for threads.

Have you tried to shift the tail shaft to the pass. side? You might be able to slot one of the motor mounts enough to move the transfercase off the frame. Then you might shove the tranny into the side of the tunnel.Confusedcratchhe: Just thinking out loud...

He's welded the brackets to the frame, but doesn't have room for the bolt that holds the heim to the bracket.

If the bolt head fits and not the nut, will a standard nut (not the fat nylock one) work? Then you could cut the bolt to exact length and locktite it Confusedcratchhe:

Ok that's were I was confussed then. As for cut of the bolt at the nut. Theoritically you should leave at least to 2 threads showing as a safety factor espcialy with a nylock cause there locking mechanism is at the top. There is an alturnative to nylocks. We call them pinch nuts its a lock nut but are much shorter than a nylock a lot of nascar teams are using them now. Worth a thought
