Fix up a EB
#1
Hi all! My name's Mat Hughes. I'm down in the Fayetteville area and had a question for you guys. I would like to fix up an Early Bronco as a daily driver. My budget to have a reasonably dependable, decent looking Bronco is $7-9,000. I'm not looking for a concourse restoration, and things like power steering and AC can wait. I can work on most things, but I can't weld and would probably send it to a shop to be painted. Do you think that is a reasonable budget? Where did you guys find your Broncos? Any tips, tricks or hints? Thanks in advance,
Mat

Mat, can you come to Raleigh April 26 for the Raleigh Bronco Bash? I hope you can make it and meet some of the good people on this forum who are willing to help with a new build. Who knows you may find a rig for sale. Welcome!

Check out some of the Bronco Drive and other magazines. You can get a resto in pretty good shape ready to go for that price.

Or

You can buy a fixer upper and drop your budget pretty easily. It is all obtainable though. Plus you get to have fun doing it.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I would love to come up on the 26th. I was hoping to get a mostly rust free (or repaired) truck from $3-5k and fix it up with new paint, interior and whatever other fixes it needed. I've always worked on newer model 4x4 though. There's just something about a classic....

"I talked it over with my wife" Don't you mean "I asked permission". LOL Before ya'll start telling me not to pick on the new guy just remember I had to ask permission also. (But don't tell her I told you, cause she will be with me at the bash) Ha Ha

Welcome Limey!
