The 4 link for the D60 is a prototype so we are gonna be the guinea pigs so we will keep the thread alive so everyone knows how we did.It is a finished product for the 9 in so we are in uncharted waters as far as the top link mount but with some off the shelf products from Ruff Stuff and BTF we should be ok.

Got my drag link and tie-rod done today. We used 1-1/2" DOM with .250 wall and weld-in inserts. We drilled two plug weld holes for each insert and beveled the tube to allow for more welding surface. Those inserts are never coming out :!: They are primed and I'll paint them tomorrow probably. Misalignment spacers are ordered.

I've got to find a Grade 8 bolt with a long shoulder and less thread. The bolts I have (too short anyways) have so much thread on them that the thread is going through the actual heims.

Now it's time to figure out the trac bar. I know I'm going to use a riser, but the drag link angle is so low due to the dropped pitman arm it's going to have to be one tall riser. I'm going to have to figure out how to bend this thick tube probably :?:

Oh yea .. that old stock tie-rod came in handy lining things up. You can see in the pics that I've got it upside down in the knuckles to keep things lined up correctly.

think you can use stock pitman arm? might help with the angles and track bar?

I thought about that too. I've still got to run the pitman arm up on the shaft (about an inch) and that will create just a little more angle. Before I do that I may look and see what the stock arm looks like.

It feels good to get back to work on it finally!

We got the body moved out of the garage today and made some room to start working on the rear 4 Link. The truss is from Ruff Stuff - a two piece design that is very stout. The way it came it stuck way up in the air so we cut 2" out of it - talk about a lot of 3" hole saw cutting! It fits perfectly now. I've got some brackets ordered from Blue Torch Fab that will be here on Monday that go on top of the truss to hold the upper links. We've got to figure out if the truss needs to be square with the ground or if it should be square to the rear housing and be angled back.

The rear axle is 10.5 inches back from stock, making the total wheel base 102.5". The rear tires will be almost flush with the rear frame horns. My goal was 104" (1 foot longer than stock), but then my tires would stick out past my rear bumper, especially if I ever upgrade to 42's.

The frame brackets are about 1 foot from the cage arms. If we hadn't moved the axle back, they would be touching. While we were using the 3" hole saw we went ahead and took a piece of 3x3 square tubing .188 wall and made a tracbar riser for the front 60. I'm hoping it also serve for a ram mount.
