TTB lift question

I have an EB but my brother in law has a '92 with the stock TTB axle up front. I was just wondering how the camber gets corrected on one of these axles when lifted since it's different than a solid front axle. Also, is there really any reason to keep the sway bar.

You can buy offset camber bushings to help out with it. As far as why, I think it's because the angles on the stock steering rods being whacked out with lift. I've noticed the toe in makes a difference in the tires layin over.My 95 had 6'' of lift and only laid down when backing up. My 84 with 6'' was doin it while driving forward and in reverse they leaned the other way.I changed the drag link and tie rods and adjusted the toe with a tape measure and now it's like the 95. The big thing is when in 4wd the wheels toe in bad.I'm not sure what the answer is but JayT has an aftermarket steering setup that uses equal length tie rods and I don't think he has these issues.

Ronnie is right... I'm running the SuperLift Superrunner steering kit... Love it! but it's expensive. And after every trip, I either deal with the death wobble, or go to an alignment shop. As far as the sway bar goes, I don't think it does a darn thing... half the time mine is disconnected, or one side is missing a bushing...

How hard are the caster bushing to take out of the top of the upper ball joint? I'm afraid I'm going to have to do it for my brother in law. I bought him the adjustable ones from Jeff's. I don't want to have to take off the knuckles and everything.

the adjusters aren't that bad, but the ball joints may be shot.

Yep... thankfully, I had someone else do my joints while they were gearing it... He about went through the wall in his shop when they broke free...

Just keep in mind that you can still have some issues that appear to be camber related that aren't. If it gets toed out too much the tires will try to pull away from the truck causing the tires to lay down. If toed in too much this will happen in reverse and in 4wd. Hopefully you won't have any issues cause those frontends were pretty tough but they have a mind of their own.

It requires a special socket (four points) for removel best if done right in the alinment bay, but you can do it your self and then have it done. It will change camber and some caster.
