I pulled the heads off last night and was able to get the block off of the floor tonight thanks to JayT's engine stand!
I plan to take the heads to the machine shop so they can assess the condition. I assume a valve job will be needed.
Here's a picture of the pressure plate and the worn release levers. No wonder it was squeaking up a storm. The release bearing is completely seized up.
