71Rig Wrote:** I also posted this in the classicbroncos.com website and they told me to come here.
Whats goin on guys. Im livin in charleston, sc for june and july and wanted to see whose around there. i also have a couple questions. Im living downtown on calhoun but working out in the isle of palms, so i was wondering how far the commute is? Also how often does it rain down during the summer months, i know its gets real humid and i like to leave my top down, but if its going to be raining all the time ill probably keep it up. im thinking of bringing my rig down there for the summer but its a 8 hour drive from here to charleston and i dont know if i want to put those miles on my baby, so i was thinking of not taking it down. I also wont have any tools down there and don't know too much about working on it so if i get stuck in a bad situation im kinda screwed. I would really love to bring my bronco down though because i feel like it would be a lot of fun to have down there for the summer, but i also have a parking spot outside and if its constantly getting rained on, and i have to continually put the soft top up and down, i dont know if its worth it. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!
Hey,
Let me first start off by saying welcome to the club.
From Downtown to Isle of Palms, depending on where in IOP, I'd say its about 20 minutes. You just shoot straight down Hwy 17.
It doesn't rain all the time. Usually there's a 20-30 % chance every day. Like you said, cause it gets so humid. We mostly have a rain shower in the afternoon, like around 4 or 5pm. It doesn't last very long though!
Charleston was made to go Topless!! These upcoming months are what make owning a Bronco so much fun!
About your situation with the tools and such, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just give one of us a shout and we'd be more than happy to help you. That what we do! Correct me if I'm wrong (anybody), but I'd say there's about a dozen of us that live in Charleston. So finding someone to give you a hand shouldn't be a problem.
Hope this helps!
