E4OD transmission
BW1356 transfer case. you can see what's left of a paper gasket and that there's a seal around the input shaft.

I guess I don't understand where it is coming from.
Maybe that is what you need to know for sure.
Could the tailhousing be cracked and leaking? Seen that happen when a u-joint goes bad.
Or just the bolts come loose?
You could still get lucky, just any tranny is so tempermental after they have been hot.
Had a guy tell me once that you have 4-6 months to trade it after an E4OD reached 260 degrees just once.
I have seen just a few minutes of 240 degrees destroy 700R4's.
Heat is a funny thing, it warps things, allows them to start leaking and slipping and that is where the real damage is comes.
