yeah. little more work but body bolts will line up easier this way.
If you can't fix it with a hammer and a welder then your gonna need a new one!

I borrowed a sawzall today for the old body mount removal. I assume I'll need to pull my carpet out to remove the mounting bolt from the top?

my body mounts were a pain in butt...but i didnt have a sawzall at the time either..i used hammers,crowbars,screwdrivers. yeah you will have to either remove carpet or if you can pull it out of the way to get bolt out. the hardest ones for me to remove were the ones in middle of bronco. front and rears came apart easily.
If you can't fix it with a hammer and a welder then your gonna need a new one!

4 down, 4 to go. The two mounts located under the front seat floors were under the new floor pans I had installed :error: A little minor surgery and they were out.

About 6 sawzall blades and a few busted knuckles later, I have all 8 body mounts off. Any other considerations before I jack up the body? Does the steering rod need to be adjusted? I figure I'll need to take it up about 3" to get the new mounts in place.
What location is recommended for setting up my 2x4s?

clutch rod will have to be lengthened. what type of steering shaft do you have? if its 2pc then i would just loosen the column bolts under dash to allow it to move while you move the body. as far as the 2x4s should be able to run one on each corner behind rear wheels, and i done 2 under front floor pans. and maybe one under the center of core support on front.

did you have factory ps? if so then it prolly a 2pc. look for a u joint (knucle) on shaft a few inches from firewall.mine had manual steering and i opted for tilt column because my steering shaft was bent and column was wore out so it was easier for me to change whole assembly. but other than that i lengthed the clutch rod. and to do that i just cut mine and welded a 2 inch bolt in it and painted it black cant even tell it. filler hoses might or might not need to be lengthed loosen the clamps and see what how they end up after the body lift. fan shroud may have to be modified if you are running one. but toms bronco parts sells one for a bodylifted bronco and they are metal and almost as cheap as one from other vendors. i called wh before i done mine and really it depends on the yr and bronco to what all has to be adjusted. possibly master cylinder lines if using the rubber/steel combo but if all metal you should be fine. shift rods if still using column shifter. floor shifter no prob. it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. i went into mine blind. but when i done 302 swap i done a lot of research beforehand. if i was closer i would gladly get my hands dirty.
