thought we could get a list going...i find sometimes people dont know things that could help when wheeling or driving.
one that comes to mind...
if you have a welded or spooled front axle...be sure to "clock" the axle shafts, making sure the ears on the shafts are both pointing up on both side(driver/pass) that way it will help when steering. a detroit,lock-rite,psi,etc will all the shafts to rotate at different speeds...so its not necessary to have them clocked
add to this list if you have a helpful tip

While not necessarily a 'tech' tip, always keep your thumbs toward the outside of the steering wheel while driving. If you hit something (whether on or off road) and the steering wheel turns violently, it can break your thumbs if they contact the blades of the steering wheel.
Only other thing I have without thinking about it too much is to turn the heat on if the vehicle starts to overheat. It will help cool the engine some.

Now you tell me, duh! LOL!
I have tons of tips like this, not sure were to start. Most of mine would be for working on your rig. Like making your own one man bleeder with some clear hose and a bottle.
Or the spare ignition modual for the 80s and up for dist.
Let me think awhile and I'll see if I can come up with a list.
